A man has died following a fire at a property in Menai Bridge.

Emergency services were called to Penmynydd Road at around 5.27pm on Sunday after reports of a fire at a residential address.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Bangor and Benllech attended the scene.

Tragically, the body of a man was discovered outside the property. He was later pronounced dead.

Mike Owen from the fire service said: “Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family and friends of this gentleman at this difficult time.

“The cause of the fire has yet to be determined and is now subject to a joint investigation.”

An investigation involving emergency services is now underway to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
