A 16-year-old boy who went missing from the Talacre area has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

Rhys disappeared from the Talacre Beach Resort on Sunday evening, prompting a major search operation involving North Wales Police, search and rescue teams, the RNLI, HM Coastguard and members of the local community.

Concerns had been growing for the teenager's welfare as the search entered its fourth day on Wednesday, with a fresh appeal for information issued earlier in the day.

Police have now confirmed that Rhys has been located safe and well.

Chief Inspector Caroline Mullen-Hurst thanked all those involved in the search effort.

She said: "Over the last few days, extensive searches have been undertaken, together with door to door enquiries in the local area.

"I would like to thank our colleagues at NEWSAR, RNLI, HM Coastguard and also members of the public who have all provided invaluable help in the search for Rhys."

The update brings a positive end to a search operation that attracted widespread support across North Wales, with many people sharing appeals and information in a bid to help locate the teenager.
