Colwyn Bay FC boss Craig Hogg has made another addition to his squad by agreeing terms with experienced central defender Scott Lycett from Runcorn Linnets.

The 31-year-old, who was a youth player at Manchester City and Port Vale, was in Leicester City's Reserve squad before an extensive non-league career which included spells at Mossley, Hednesford Town, Leamington, Kidsgrove Athletic, Halesowen Town, Nantwich Town, Witton Albion and Marine.

He also had a previous spell at Colwyn Bay under Neil Young in 2008/9 (the season Bay lost to Newcastle Blue Star on penalties in the play-offs) when he scored in consecutive games against Chasetown (FA Trophy) and Radcliffe Borough.

Craig commented: "It is another very good addition to the squad and I'm very pleased Scott is joining us.

"He will be a familiar face to some of our fans from his previous spell here and he has also played for other very big clubs in the NPL in recent years.

"He is a very good central defender and one who will bring a heck of a lot to the club and to Cymru North football.

"I look forward to introducing him to the squad and seeing him in action for the Bay again."

On the current look of the squad, Craig added; "We have brought in a number of players in the January window with lads returning and new signings coming in.

"There is a really good mix of a number of ingredients within the group and genuine competition in every position.

"We are planning for the possibility of being involved in three competitions, when the season does start, and the intent from us is to do well in all of them."
