New name and new dates for the North Wales Choral Festival

November 05, 2020 - 1151 views

New dates for the North Wales Choir Festival have been announced.

The popular festival was due to be held in Venue Cymru, Llandudno at the start of March but in response to the growing pandemic and the use of Venue Cymru as an emergency COVID hospital Ty'r Enfys, the date has moved back another year to 2022.

This now means that the festival will run 4th to 6th March 2022, in Venue Cymru.

It would have been the first Festival following a break this year due to changing its dates from the Autumn to incorporate a St David’s Day celebration as part of the event. And with its new name the North Wales Choir Festival, replacing the North Wales Choral Festival.

The event organisers would still love choirs and the audience to get together in a way they can during the 2021 dates. And are aware that many choirs have been meeting virtually, with more details to be announced soon.

The Festival’s organisers are still very excited about the new element, celebrating national St David’s Day as well as the Choir Festival, and hope previous choirs as well as new ones will join them virtually in March 2021 and in Venue Cymru in 2022.
