Residents in Kinmel Bay are being urged to report incidents of anti-social off-road bike use in the Tir Llwyd area as police continue efforts to tackle the ongoing problem.

North Wales Police says it continues to receive reports of off-road bikes being ridden in a way that causes nuisance to local communities, damage to the surrounding environment and concerns for the safety of other people using the area.

The local Neighbourhood Policing Team is carrying out patrols and working with partner agencies to address the issue, but officers say one of the biggest challenges is that reports are often made after riders have already left the area.

Police are encouraging people to report incidents while they are happening, as real-time information gives officers the best chance of attending and requesting specialist support where needed.

When reporting activity, residents are asked to provide as much detail as possible, including the exact location, the number of bikes involved, descriptions of riders and clothing, the direction of travel and any photographs or video footage that can be obtained safely.

Officers have stressed that people should not put themselves at risk while trying to gather evidence.

If there is an immediate danger to public safety, residents should call 999. For non-emergency reports, information can be provided through 101 or North Wales Police's online reporting channels.

Police say they understand that some members of the public may question the amount of resources dedicated to off-road bike incidents, but insist that tackling local concerns remains an important part of neighbourhood policing.

A spokesperson said policing is not a "one-size-fits-all" service, and officers continue to respond to emergencies, investigate crime and support vulnerable people across North Wales while also dealing with issues raised by communities.

Residents' reports and information are helping officers build intelligence, identify those responsible and direct resources where they are needed most.

The force has thanked local people for continuing to share information and report concerns, saying community support is vital in tackling anti-social behaviour.
