An investigation has been launched after a man sustained serious injuries following a road vehicle collision on the A5 near Betws-y-Coed yesterday evening.
At approximately 5:10pm, North Wales Police received a report of a two-vehicle collision between Betws-y-Coed and the Padog bends, near to the Silver Fountain pub, involving a silver-coloured Astra van and a HGV.
The male driver of the Astra van was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd by ambulance with serious injuries. The driver of the HGV also sustained minor injuries.
An appeal has been made for witnesses to come forward and Police are keen to speak to anybody who may have seen the silver Astra van travelling along the A5 through Betws-y-Coed towards Pentrefoelas just prior to the collision.
Both vehicles were recovered and the road re-opened shortly before 10:30pm.
