Appeal to save storm hit Llandudno Pier reaches £10,000

Llandudno's Pier suffered significant damage as a result of Storm Darragh at the weekend, with shop units being ripped away and the main pier itself at risk.

In response, a GoFundMe page was set up to owner Adam Williams of the Llandudno Pier Compant to raise funds for the repairs. So far over £10,000 has been raised.

Thousands of pounds are needed to restore the iconic landmark after wind and waves battered the structure.

A message from Mr. Williams on the GoFundMe page says:  "As you all know Llandudno pier took a beating by Storm Darragh. There has been extensive damage caused, this is going to take a long time to repair at great expense.

Llandudno pier in our time has never received any grants or government funds towards repairs or maintenance. The pier is 150 years old in 2027 and we need your help!!"

Estimates for the repair work are said to be in the region of around a quarter of a million pounds.
