A bus route in Deganwy is changing in response to a road closure and concerns for local shops.
The major closure has led to limited public transport options for residents and businesses in the area.
Janet Finch-Saunders, Member of the Welsh Parliament for Aberconwy, acting on behalf of residents, has made formal requests for urgent consideration to be given to providing a shuttle service or improved diversion route for public transport users from central Deganwy.
The bus services affected are 5D, 13, 15, and 24.
Responding to her concerns, Arriva Buses have advised that the diversion route will be changed on Monday (15/09/2025) so that all bus services, running in both directions, operate via Rockfield drive and Hawes Drive.
Mrs. Finch-Saunders said: “I thank Arriva Buses Wales for their prompt responses to my correspondence, and for the steps taken so to change the diversion route.
“The new route commencing on Monday will mean that buses reach stops closer to central Deganwy.
“I appreciate that this is not a perfect solution, but it is an improvement to a situation caused by the major road closure.
“I thank Arriva Buses Wales, Wales & West, and Cllr Samantha Cotton for their cooperation so to try and ensure that public transport is accessible to more residents in Deganwy”.
