A collabriative project between three friends is beginning to pick up speed with a second single release on the way.

Earlier this year, 3SouL unveiled their debut track Energy, which went to garner serious industry interest, while racking up more than 10,000 streams on Spotify and Facebook alone.

With a bit of wind in their sales, the trio – made up of Coatbridge singer-songwriter Pete MacLeod, Stirling-based Graeme Ferguson and Welshman Brandon Lee – will follow up with Enhanced on Friday July 23.

The success of the first track was somewhat unexpected for the group, which formed in the wake of a chance meeting in 2019. MacLeod and Ferguson had been long-time collaborators and struck up a unique friendship with Lee while playing a festival in Wales.

Having worked on the material before Covid and through lockdown, they have developed a laid-back sound that has captured the ears of many.

MacLeod said: “Really, we did not know what to expect when we released our first track, but we’ve all been blown away by the support.  When we started 3SouL, we just wanted a project the three of us could work on and enjoy.

“To see so many people digging the first track is just incredible. We are grateful for every stream and all the positive feedback we have had. 

“We all share a love of music and we wanted to work together – I’ve really loved working with these guys since we linked up.  It’s just been a great process for us all; we’ve enjoyed coming together to put something out. Having others love the track is a feeling we won’t forget.”

The success of Energy turned a few industry heads and, as a result, 3SouL were able to strike a distribution agreement with 3tone for Enhanced.

MacLeod added: “It’s always great when folk take an interest in your music and in your future releases. Discussing singles, EPs and a possible 3SouL album – it’s all ongoing, I guess.

“In the meantime, we just hope that those who liked Energy will be as impressed with Enhanced.
“For us, it made sense to release this song after our first single Energy. Musically, it’s upbeat and it’s got more of a traditional song structure about it.

“Lyrically, the song is about that enhanced feeling you have when you’re around someone you connect with. And just keeping those feelings moving along in that positive direction. It’s an enhanced ability and funnily enough a positive energy too.”
