One of the most enduring and popular bands of a generation have announced that they are heading to Colwyn Bay next summer as part of a massive stadium tour.

Bayside Radio broke the news this morning after enquiring on-air what the plans were for the big Access All Eirias event which traditionally comes to the town in the summer.

Simon Wynne said he couldn't quite believe it. "We tend to find out after Christmas what plans are in place for music events across North Wales so to have this early announcement really took us by surprise.

"It was a very welcome start to the weekend and one that has got everyone talking especially after the dissapointment of last year's event getting cancelled. There'll be many, many people keen to see Shane, Nicky, Mark and Kian hopefully in the Colwyn Bay sun."

Westlife which has got back together to produce a new single and album took part in a breath taking 20th anniversary tour will be heading to Stadiwm Zipworld on Sunday 5th July. Organisers expect that tickets will be in high demand.

It will be the band’s first UK outdoor tour in nearly a decade and follows the success of the Twenty tour which saw the band  perform to over 600,000 fans across 27 cities and 13 countries.
