Buses resume from Friday after strike action called off

A strike by North Wales bus drivers which would have seen services suspended into December has been halted.

Following agreement by Arriva Buses Wales, drivers and the trade union Unite, an improved pay offer was proposed and accepted on Thursday evening.

Services will resume from Friday although some of the early morning service may still be impacted as the bus timetables start to become active once again.

The strike which was due to end on December 19 was called after a difference in pay between drivers in North Wales and those in the North West of England.

Whilst many supported the strike action, some people reported problems travelled to work and getting children to school. There were concerns about older people not being able to take up booster jab and flu vaccine appointments.
