Colwyn Bay's Christmas Artisan Market has been called off at the last minute according to organisers this afternoon.
In a post on social media, the Artisan Market Company who run the popular market say they have reluctantly been forced to scrap the event due to expected high winds and adverse weather conditions in the town.
The market which is a monthly highlight for local shoppers and visitors, has been cancelled on a number of occassions during the past year in response to poor weather.
This year's Christmas Artisan Market was expected to be one of the highlights in the town's retail calendar and has been promoted extensively as part of plans to bring more visitors into the town during the Christmas shopping period.
Nevertheless, independent retailers in the town say they look forward to welcoming shoppers to join them in the run up to Christmas and for late night shopping evenings between 5pm and 8pm on Thursdays.
