As North Wales went into lockdown, many local firms put aside worries about running their businesses and instead turned their attention to assisting and recognising the many workers and organisations who kept us going through some very uncertain months.
One of those businesses was The Bay Hop on Penrhyn Road with owner Chris Rigg making a pledge to local frontline workers that he would buy them a drink to say thanks when the micropub opened again following lockdown.
Over the past number of weeks Chris and his customers, along with support from the breweries which supply ales to the pub, have generously contributed to the kitty and now Chris says he is ready to keep his promise.
Over the next few days Chris and his staff intend to give away 70 free drinks to local key workers and he has set up the Bay Hop's website for workers to claim their drinks on a first come, first served basis.
Chris says NHS staff, social care workers, teachers, Royal Mail staff and other couriers, supermarket staff, bus and railways workers, council refuse collectors and any other keyworker with a valid keyworker ID card are welcome to visit https://thebayhop.co.uk/product/free-pint-for-keyworkers/ and claim a drink.
