A local school will once again play host to a Christmas event in aid of a maritime charity.

The annual Public Carol Service “A Winters Tale” will take place tomorrow (Tuesday, December 17th) at St John’s Church from 6.30pm and there will be a retiring collection which will be donated to the RNLI.

The event will once again be hosted by Rydal Penrhos School.

During the evening there will be performances from the Rydal Penrhos Choir, who will be singing a host of festive hymns to get those attending into the Christmas spirit under the guidance of Director of Music Pete Williams.

The school’s Community Choir will also be on hand to lend their support to the event, which has raised thousands for the organisation over a number of years.

There will be coffee and mince pies for guests in the church room once the service has concluded, which have kindly been provided by Tesco.

The Carol Service will be led by Rev’d Nick Sissons, Chaplain at Rydal Penrhos.

Mr Williams, who also presents on Bayside Radio,  said: “Our annual Carol Service in aid of the RNLI is always something that each member of the Rydal Penrhos community really looks forward to, and we are hoping for another big turnout to raise as much as we can for a very worthy cause.

“We are very proud of our association with the RNLI, who do so much wonderful work providing a safe environment along the North Wales coast and throughout the country.”
