Pupils across Conwy are being congratulated on their achievements as they collect their exam results and look ahead to the next stage of their lives.

Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education, Councillor Aaron Wynne, has sent his best wishes to students receiving their results, recognising the hard work, commitment and resilience that has gone into reaching this point.

He said it was a moment for pupils to feel proud of what they had achieved, while also acknowledging the support provided by families, friends and teachers along the way.

Councillor Wynne said: “I want to start by saying a huge congratulations to all of you who have received your results this morning.

“I know how much hard work, commitment and resilience you have put in to get here and you should be incredibly proud of yourselves and I’m sure your family, your friends and your teachers who have supported you along the way are proud of you too.”

For some students, today will mark the start of university or further education, while others may be moving into apprenticeships, employment or taking a different route altogether.

Councillor Wynne says there is no single definition of success and encouraged young people to approach their next chapter with confidence.

He added: “Whatever your next step, whether it’s university, apprenticeship, work or something entirely different, I wish you every success as you begin this exciting new chapter.

“Take time to celebrate your achievements, enjoy the rest of the summer and look ahead with confidence.”

The results day celebrations come after months – and in many cases years – of preparation, revision and hard work.

For those who achieved the grades they were hoping for, today is a chance to celebrate.
