Disqualified Bangor driver jailed for dangerous driving

A disqualified driver, Nathan Raymond Williams, has been jailed for dangerous driving after leading police on a high-speed pursuit in Bangor.

He drove recklessly crossing traffic lanes and driving the wrong way on the A55 before finally being stopped by tactical police officers.

Williams pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 52 weeks in prison, along with a 5-year and 3-month driving ban.

PC Robert Williams of the Roads Crime Unit said: “Williams’ driving that evening was completely reckless and could have easily caused a serious, if not fatal incident.

“We know that disqualified and uninsured drivers like Williams pose a risk to other road users, both for causing serious collisions and in causing higher premiums for us all.

“We regularly carry out patrols and are determined to catch offenders, so we are pleased that a dangerous driver has been taken off the roads and is now paying the consequences by serving a custodial sentence.”
