Dwr Cymru has confirmed that it has now completed the complex repair to the burst water main at Bryn Cowlyd Works in the Conwy Valley.
However it may take up to 48 hours for water supplies to be fully restored to affected communities.
In the meantime, residents without water can collect supplies at Stadium CSM in Colwyn Bay, Zip World in the Conwy Valley, at the Council HQ at Bodlondeb in Conwy and at the West Shore, Llandudno.
Zip World have also said that their Llanrwst site has plenty of water available to residents who bring containers to carry the water. There are toilet and washing facilities which will be open for free to the public during the day.
In a statement earlier, Dwr Cymru said: "We are continuing to support hospitals with tankers and delivering bottled water to care homes and those vulnerable customers with a high dependency on water who on our Priority Services Register.
"To recognise the inconvenience being experienced by customers whose supplies have disrupted, each eligible household will be paid £30 in compensation for every 12 hours their supplies have been affected. This will automatically be paid to customers in their bank accounts. Cheques will be issued over the coming weeks to customers who do not have registered a bank account with us.
"Business customers will be paid £75 in compensation for every 12 hours their supplies have been affected but businesses will also be able to submit separate claims for additional loss of income."
