A warning has gone out to dog walkers in Eirias Park to beware of a possible water quality issue in Llyn Eirias, the former boating pond.

A message from the Friends of Eirias Park group reported that a dog had become poorly after being seen drinking water from the lake by its owner.

Whilst there is no evidence to prove that the lake is the source of the sickness, the group stated that dog walkers may wish to take precautions and not allow their pet to drink the water.

A writer for Bayside Radio witnessed debris, litter and algae in the water when visiting over the weekend. Conwy County Borough Council who are responsible for the lake, have been approached for comment.
