Many more fake QR codes have been found recently on parking meters in Conwy county and now in parts of Denbighshire.
In an almost constant game of 'whack-a-mole', these fake stickers are being removed by council officers as soon as they are discovered.
In recent weeks over 20 reports have been made in Llandudno alone.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "We have had reports that more fraudulent QR code stickers have been placed on parking meters.
"Please be careful as the QR codes, once scanned are leading to a fake website that looks legitimate and asks for your banking details."
Meters in Conwy County only accept coins and card payments, but neverthless the fake codes are creating confusion and opportunity for the scammers.
