Members of the Gog Triathlon Club rise to the challenge and every day for the month of August, one of the ladies team will cycle, run, or walk a lap on the Great Orme to raise much-needed funds for their local hospice.
Organiser and club member Ceri Hughes said: “COVID-19 has hit St David’s Hospice finances hard. In an attempt to help the Hospice Recovery Fund, I have created a challenge for August along with friends from the GOG Triathlon Club."
"Between us, we are going around the Orme a minimum of 150 times, over 660 miles.
“The Great Orme Goats Challenge is very appropriate for us in the GOG Squad! Our club name is short for Gogledd, which is welsh for ‘North’ and so reflecting the fact that the club is based in North Wales.
"But it is also an acronym of ‘Great Orme Goats,’ which are iconic of the area and feature in the club’s logo. So what an apt challenge for us all!
“St David’s Hospice is close to all our hearts. Many of our friends and families have needed the hospice’s care which provides the best end of life care. It’s a truly worthwhile cause.”
The St David’s Hospice Great Orme Goat Challenge is open to all. St David’s Hospice invites everyone to enjoy Llandudno headland and complete as many loops as you can during August, and there is still time to join in.
In return for the fundraising efforts, every time you raise £100 for the charity you will receive a free bespoke ‘Mostyn the goat’ soft toy!
