Helicopter deployed to keep spread of Carrog fire contained

Residents near the village of Carrog in Denbighshire have been advised to keep their windows closed due to a wild fire currently alight on a nearby mountain.

The North Wales Fire and Rescue Service is currently dealing with the blaze, and 'Natural Resources Wales' has sent a helicopter to assist.

The fire has also encroached on an large area of forestry and efforts are being made to contain its spread as a matter of urgency.

Residents in the locality are being asked to keep windows and door closed to keep smoke out of homes and the risk of inhaling toxic fumes.
