A HGV driver has been remanded in custody after being charged with drink driving.
42-year-old Lauras Jakas of Lithuania appeared before Mold Magistrates yesterday after being stopped by officers from the Roads Crime Unit on Friday morning.
Police were responding to a report of a possible drink driver on the A55 near Bodelwyddan – the 44 tonne HGV was stopped shortly after 10:30am on Flint Mountain where the driver provided a positive breath test.
He was arrested and taken to custody where he provided a second positive reading.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "Thank you to the person who called the police – we’ll never know, but you have potentially saved a life or lives."
