Holyhead port remains closed until mid January at earliest

Its been finally confirmed that Holyhead Port will remain closed until at least January 15th due to damage caused by Storm Darragh.

Terminal 3 and Terminal 5 ferry berths will remain closed for safety reasons, following two incidents that caused part of the structure to collapse.

The closure has disrupted the main sea route between North Wales and Dublin, impacting on the two million passengers and twelve hundred lorries and trailers that use Holyhead annually.

Ireland's national postal service has also changed its Christmas delivery plans and is now diverting post via Liverpool and other routes into Wales and the UK.
