Conwy County Borough Council has published FAQs for parents to provide as much information as possible about how schools will function when they reopen today, at https://www.conwy.gov.uk/schoolscovidfaq
The commencement of the Check in, catch up and prepare provision is available for all school age children (not nursery or post 16) during the normal school hours day.
This is voluntary for children to attend and as schools are working with a maximum 30% capacity, children will be on a rota basis – allowing a set percentage of children to attend alongside the emergency childcare provision.
Cabinet Member for Education, Cllr Julie Fallon, has also prepared a video to show the signage and layout arrangements that have been put in place.
She said, “I am confident that staff have put in place all the arrangements needed in line with Welsh Government guidelines.
"We’ve been working extremely closely with schools, and school staff have said that they’re ready to welcome back pupils. It’s been a challenging time for families and staff and it will be wonderful to bring back a semblance of normality for young people so they can catch up with friends and their teachers before the summer holidays.”
Many local schools including Ysgol Eirias, Bryn Elian, Pen-y-Bryn and St. Josephs have also put together their own online guides and videos to help parents and pupils return back to school with confidence.
