I'm A Celebrity: Gwyrch reveals 'temporary' 3 month closure

Gwyrch Castle has put the social media world in a frenzy this morning with news that it is temporarily closing to the public  for a number of months.

Is this the latest clue that Gwyrch is the location for ITVs 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' which is back on the network in November?

The statement which has gone up this morning reads: "Gwrych Castle and Estate will be temporarily closing to the public at 5pm on Sunday 23rd August until New Year. Keep checking our website and social media for updates."

The timing of the closure fits perfectly with the schedule needed to prepare the site ready for filming, transmission of the series and then the recommissioning of the site back for access by the public.

ITVs press office remains tight lipped about the speculation but have promised that an official announcement is expected in "a matter of days".

In Abergele last week, a television production surveying company was spotted in the town and there have been unofficial spectulation that a local caravan park has been asked to accomodate the production crew for 3 months at the end of the year.

I'm A Celebrity is one of TVs most watched programmes and is a jewel in the crown of the ITV schedule. The opening episode of the last series was watched by 13.17 million people.
