Kieran Sherratt, who featured for North Wales Crusaders in early 2020 before the season was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic, has linked up with the club again ahead of the 2022 campaign.
The 25-year-old originally joined Crusaders from Midlands club Coventry Bears, making three appearances and scoring two tries in a promising start to 2020.
However, with the pandemic bringing the season to a premature close, Sherratt returned to Coventry for 2021 and was once again a key part of their side last term.
On the back of a successful campaign that saw Crusaders finish third in League 1, the Wigan Warriors academy product has opted for a move back to North Wales for a second stint.
Sherratt said: “When Muzza gave me a call, it was an easy decision to make. I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the club previously so I’m looking forward to being back on board.
“I followed the boys in the play-offs and I thought they were going to go further, but I’m sure we’ll work to build on that next season. I always kept my eye on the club’s results and really wanted the lads to go all the way.
“Even when Coventry played at the new stadium with no crowd, you could see how good the facilities were, but playing in front of fans must’ve been even better as I know some of the crowds were pushing towards 1,000. I bet the atmosphere was unbelievable and that’s exactly what you want to be playing in front of.
“There are some older heads in the squad to lead the younger lads and it’s good to have that combination. League 1 will probably be more competitive than ever next season as the bridge between the top and bottom of the league is always closing.
“It’s one of the most exciting competitions to be involved with and I can’t wait to get back to it with Crusaders.”
