Menai Heating, based in Menai Bridge have stepped-up to be headline sponsor of the Anglesey Abseil challenge for TÅ· Gobaith at the island’s famous column.
Not only this, but 10 of owners Lee and Sarah Maher’s staff have signed up to take the plunge down the 89ft tower themselves and the firm will also be holding a team hike up Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon.
Helping to launch the event’s bespoke t-shirt from their HQ, Sarah said: “For several years I worked in the NHS and a special educational needs school so saw many children and families benefit from the care and respite the hospices provide.
“We’ve always supported local causes and do our best for our community. We are very proud to get behind TÅ· Gobaith this year and sponsor their Anglesey Abseil.”
Lee said: “We employ 38 staff and most of us will be doing a sponsored walk up Yr Wyddfa on the weekend to raise extra funds.
“We’re really looking forward to it and are glad to help TÅ· Gobaith in any way we can.”
The brand new Anglesey Abseil takes place at the Marquess Column, Llanfairpwll on Saturday May 17th between 9am-4pm with professional supervision from outdoor specialists Go Vertical. Entry is just £30 with a commitment to raise £125 in sponsorship. As well as the adrenaline thrill, all entrants will get a goody bag and t-shirt.
Hospice fundraiser Nikki Jones was full of admiration for the firm and visiting their offices, said: “Menai Heating are being so generous and their staff are just brilliant in getting behind us this year.
“Supporting our new event and going the extra mile is really commendable.
“We know they’ll have a great time on the abseil and hopefully a dry walk up Yr Wyddfa.
“Thank you so much to Lee and Sarah and all the staff, we’re so grateful.”
