Local schools respond in the aftermath of Storm Ciara

Headteachers in Conwy are considering the impact of Storm Ciara this morning as the school week begins.

In the aftermath of the storm it is thought that most Conwy secondary schools near the coast will open as usual today (Monday 10th Feb) including Ysgol Eirias and Ysgol Bryn Elian.

However Welsh medium school Ysgol Creuddyn in Penrhyn Bay will be closed.

Most schools are said to be reserving the right to make a final decision on opening dependent on changes to the weather or the availability of teaching staff.

The final list of closures should be checked prior to sending your children off to school especially in the case of poor weather.

Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy in Llanrwst will be closed today following heavy flooding in the town yesterday. A decision whether to re-open the school on Tuesday will be made later today.
