Marks and Spencer has reportedly confirmed its move from Mostyn Street to Parc Llandudno according to local media sources and social media today.
It is expected that the company has completed talks to takeover the Debenham's store.
The company which has traded for more than 80 years in the town centre has been plannng the move since last year.
Rumours of its departure began as far back as 2017 when it closed its satellite store and began discussing options to develop a new store in an undisclosed location in the town. However these plans were not fulfiled and the retailer restated their commitment to their Mostyn Street location.
At the start of this year it became apparent that a move was imminent although at this time it was not known where on Parc Llandudno, the new store would be located.
Whilst the opening is good news for Parc Llandudno shoppers, many local people have been commenting on social media on whether the move could further accelerate the erosion of high street shopping in Llandudno and further increase the number of empty shops in the town.
