Mobile phone antennas on Venue Cymru gets go ahead

Approval has been given for the installation of new mobile phone antennas and equipment on the roof of Venue Cymru in Llandudno. The antennas aim to improve services in the across the town and into Craig-y-Don.

Despite objections, including a concern that the installation is on a building in a conservation area, the planning group at Conwy Council granted permission for the installation.

It is hoped that residents can soon expect better mobile coverage in an area notorious for poor phone reception and call quality.

Janet Finch-Saunders, MS for Aberconwy and other local councillors have campaigned hard for a solution to the issue.

Earlier this year, Mrs. Finch-Saunders said: “At a time when businesses are facing challenges on multiple fronts, the lack of reliable signal in the town is proving to be yet another obstacle to its success."
