Creative businesses, freelancers and entrepreneurs from across North Wales are being invited to help shape the future of the Welsh creative industries at a new event in Wrexham next week.
The session, taking place on Tuesday, November 10, from 2.15pm to 4.30pm, is part of a series being launched by Mentera to bring people working across the creative sector together to discuss the challenges they face and the support they need to grow.
Wrexham is one of three locations hosting the first events, alongside Carmarthen and Cardiff, under the banner Creative Industries Wales: Creative Contacts.
The sessions will give people working in areas including music, film and television, design, digital, gaming, publishing, animation, visual arts and content creation the opportunity to share their experiences.
Rather than formal conferences, the events will take the form of open discussions, allowing participants to identify opportunities, discuss existing support and highlight where further help is needed.
The feedback will be used to develop a practical support package for creative businesses and entrepreneurs across Wales, including resources, guidance and advice tailored to the needs of the industry.
Mentera says the initiative reflects the growing importance of the creative sector to the Welsh economy and the need to ensure businesses have the skills, infrastructure and opportunities to develop.
Chief Executive LlÅ·r Roberts said Wales had an enormous amount of creative talent and entrepreneurial spirit.
He said the aim was to listen directly to people working in the industry and ensure future support was shaped by their experiences.
Mr Roberts added that bringing the sector together would help identify what was needed to enable creative businesses to grow and thrive sustainably.
The programme is intended to encourage greater collaboration between businesses, entrepreneurs and freelancers, while helping to strengthen Wales' wider creative economy.
People interested in attending the Wrexham event can book a place through Eventbrite.
Further events will take place in Carmarthen on November 24 and Cardiff on November 25, with tickets also available through Eventbrite for Carmarthen and Eventbrite for Cardiff.
