Police arrest two in Llandudno Junction drug probe

Yesterday in Llandudno Junction, a Community Beat Officer with the help of CCTV operators, apprehended a man riding an illegal high-powered e-bike, leading to the discovery of cannabis, cash, and a suspicious phone.

The rider was arrested for driving offences and drug possession, and a woman at his address was also arrested for drug possession.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: "On locating and stopping the bike the rider did not want to stay when he was detained and a short struggle took place.

"The male was detained, you will be glad to hear with no injury to PC Couling luckily, and found to be in possession of a quantity of cannabis as well as several hundred pounds in cash and a phone that seem to be very popular for calls and messages.

"As he was riding an illegal bike that is classified as needing a licence, insurance and MoT he was arrested for all the driving offences and possession of Class B drugs with intent to supply. He was also drug swiped which indicated cannabis in his system so was arrested for that offence as well.

"Officers then attended his last known address which was nearby and a female at that address was arrested for possession with intent to supply Class a class B controlled drug after an amount of what was suspected to be Ketamine was found. Both suspects are currently released under investigation for forensic examinations to take place.

"This is a fantastic example of pro-active work assisted by our partners in Conwy CCTV who are amazing to work with."

Both suspects remain under investigation. The police have thanked the public for their patience during the incident.
