Police concerns about cold callers in North Wales

North Wales Police have warned the public to be careful when dealing with cold callers and people selling services or goods door-to-door.

After a spate of similar incidents in Conwy county over the past few weeks, officers yesterday received a number of reports of unsolicited visits in the Old Colwyn area around Kyffin Close.

A spokesperson for the force said: "It has been reported that a male has been knocking on doors and delivering leaflets in relation broken gold jewellery.

"He has been asking for persons to let him take the items away to be valued. We strongly advise not to hand over any jewellery to any persons going door to door."

Anyone with concerns should contact the Police control room on 101.
