Police have found one of the owners of two dogs found in a stolen car driving on the A55 in Colwyn Bay.

The driver, a 30-year-old man from Ireland, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving, theft, and dog theft.

The pets, a Jack Russell cross puppy and a Fell Terrier, were taken to a kennel after being found in the car.

The driver was released under investigation but subsequently appeared at Llandudno Magistrates Court for a separate offence.
