North Wales Police have sadly reported that a woman has died following a road traffic collision in Colwyn Bay.
Shortly after 1pm on Wednesday, July 3rd, police received a 999-call reporting a one-vehicle road traffic collision on Conway Road in the West End area of Colwyn Bay. The collision involved a brown coloured Peugeot Partner van.
The emergency services attended the scene, including the Air Ambulance and the road was immediately closed.
The female passenger, who was airlifted to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with serious injuries, sadly died on Thursday, July 4th. She was aged in her 70’s.
The male driver, also aged in his 70’s, was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd by ambulance, where he remains in a stable condition.
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes of the Roads Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.
“The investigation is underway, and I am requesting any witnesses or anybody who may have been travelling in the vicinity and who may have captured the vehicle’s movements on dash cam prior to the collision to come forward.
“I’d like to thank all those who have already made contact with us.”
