Police set up session to learn from domestic abuse survivors

North Wales Police are hosting a special meeting to learn more about the devastating impact of domestic abuse and sexual violence in the community and how they can best tailor their response to this very sensitive issue.

An informal group will which meet online will provide the platform for survivors to share their views and experiences of how North Wales Police and its partners dealt with their case. 

North Wales Police underlined and acknowledged the challenge that participants may face taking part.

"We understand that attending the event will be difficult, but please be reassured that the event will be safe and support services will be available to those attending if required.

"The event will be an informal group discussion where those attending can contribute as much or as little as they feel comfortable in doing."

Due to current COVID restrictions, the event will be held virtually on the 24th February at 10.00hrs for female survivors and 3rd March at 10.00hrs for male survivors.

In order to maintain the safety and privacy of all attendees, North Wales Police will require some personal details in order to confirm the identity of those attending.

They will disclose the Microsoft Teams meeting details 48 hours in advance to attendees whose identities have been confirmed.
