Police say increased patrols and a stronger presence in Llandudno are already helping to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour in the town.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales, Andy Dunbobbin, joined officers on a walkaround on April 7th to see the work in action and speak to local people and businesses.
Alongside District Inspector Jamie Thorp, he visited key areas including the town centre, promenade and pier in Llandudno.
A major focus of the visit was Operation Khilari, a new policing initiative launched in March to tackle anti-social behaviour in the town centre and nearby retail parks. As part of the operation, extra officers are patrolling in the evenings to provide a visible presence, deter trouble and reassure the public.
Police say the approach uses local data to target known hotspots and is already delivering results, with arrests and charges linked to offences such as shop theft and burglary now progressing through the courts.
Officers are also working to make sure problems are not simply pushed into nearby areas, including Colwyn Bay.
During the visit, the Commissioner heard positive feedback from businesses, residents and visitors, who say the increased police presence is making a difference.
Mr Dunbobbin said keeping Llandudno safe, especially during busy holiday periods, remains a top priority. He added that visible, targeted policing is key to tackling anti-social behaviour and protecting communities.
Inspector Thorp said officers would continue to focus on being out in the community and responding to local concerns, adding that public support showed how important the work is.
Police say the increased patrols will continue as part of ongoing efforts to keep Llandudno a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
