Police visit Old Colwyn to tackle poor driving around school

North Wales Police have confirmed the presence of speed cameras and checks in relation to resident's concerns in Old Colwyn.

Officers were made aware of increasing complaints and comments from local residents about the actions of some motorists on roads leading to Ysgol Bryn Elian in the village.

As a result, teams were dispatched to monitor drivers and speeds on a number of roads in the village and offer advice on slowing down or re-adjusting their approach to driving near places with a large number of younger people.

A spokesperson said: "Due to recent concerns raised by the local residents in Old Colwyn, the Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out today conducting speed surveys and advising those in need, outside of a local school."
