Clwyd West MS Darren Millar is urging Old Colwyn residents to attend a public meeting about concerns over Plas Gwilym Quarry.
The quarry operator is working with Natural Resources Wales to reduce dust and noise impacts on the site.
Residents are invited to share their experiences and ask questions at the meeting on Friday at Festival Church Old Colwyn at 4.30pm. Representatives from Plas Gwilym Quarry and Natural Resources Wales have been invited to attend.
The meeting will address extension plans for the quarry and its potential impact on nearby homes.
Commenting on the issue, Mr. Millar said: “I appreciate the time taken by the operator of the quarry management to meet with me on site and explain the work they’re doing to reduce the impact of their activities.
“I’m grateful that they have agreed to meet with local residents by attending the public meeting on Friday to listen to their concerns and explain the action they are taking to address them."
Encouraging people to attend this week’s public meeting, he added: “It is important that residents make their views known so I am hopeful that with a good turnout we can have meaningful engagement that delivers a positive outcome for all.”
Cllr Cheryl Carlisle said: "The proposed planning application to use Plas Gwilym Quarry as a waste transfer station will affect homes and residents in Craig Road, Llysfaen Road, Miners Lane, Peulwys Lane and surrounding areas.
"If you feel you are going to be affected by these proposals, please try to attend the public meeting."
