Former Marcher Coast FM radio presenter and all round entertainer Mike James has sadly passed away.

Mike who presented on local radio in Colwyn Bay for many years was found by a fellow presenter on Saturday at the studios of Dee 106.3 in Chester. He had been presenting his sports programme earlier in the day.

Today Facebook is full of many tributes to the entertainer who touched the local lives and entertained audiences along the North Wales coast.

Programme Director of Dee Radio Phil Rodgers said in a statement “We are deeply saddened to hear this tragic news. Mike was an outstanding broadcaster and a good friend to everyone here at Chester’s Dee Radio, as well as a popular presenter amongst our listeners.

"Our thoughts are with his family at this very sad time.”

Close friend John Haynes posted on Facebook "It is with a heavy heart I have to report the passing on Saturday of one of my closest friends Mike Hutton, known to most people on the coast as Mike James.

"Our hearts go out to his family on this sad occasion. He will be sorely missed by all who new him, excellent entertainer and all round great guy. RIP Mike, we will miss you."
