Sarah Lesiter-Burgess is the new President of Llandudno Rotary Club from the start of July, focusing on youth engagement and community initiatives.
She praised outgoing President Tristan Owen and shared plans for the upcoming year, including collaborations with schools and neighbouring rotary clubs.
“I believe young people want to be of use to society and Rotary is the perfect platform for that,” Sarah commented.
Sarah introduced her executive team and highlighted club initiatives such as the club’s continued support for projects in South Africa.
St David’s Hospice and the Acoustic Neuroma Association hold personal significance for Sarah, and she encouraged members to share, and support causes close to their own hearts under this year’s Rotary theme: Unite for Good.
Sarah concluded, “We should never forget that the work of a Rotarian is inspirational and crosses generations.”
With a strong emphasis on unity and supporting causes like St David’s Hospice, Sarah aims to inspire the next generation of Rotarians.
Sarah is 51 years old, married, and a mother of three. She qualified as a primary school teacher in 2020, having previously worked as an employment lawyer. Earlier in her career, she was a senior manager at Robertson, overseeing offices in Milan and Morfa and leading on digital data management and consultancy.
Sarah has lived in North Wales since 1988 and served as a community councillor in Glan Conwy for 18 years. She has also stood as a parliamentary and Senedd candidate in the former Aberconwy and Clwyd West constituencies.
