Rydal Penrhos School has raised more than £650 for the RNLI from their well attended annual Christmas Concert in Colwyn Bay.
The Rydal Penrhos community turned out in force for one of the most anticipated dates over the festive period. Parents, pupils, staff, governors and members of the community descended on St John’s Church for the concert, which featured some glittering performances from our talented vocalists across the school.
Led by the Reverend Dr Rob Beamish, Chaplain of Rydal Penrhos, the concert saw the Prep and Senior Choirs take centre stage with beautiful singing under the expert guidance of Pete Williams and Alan McGuinness the school's music teachers.
There was also a notable contribution from the Rydal Penrhos Community Choir, which made a welcome return following COVID-19 restrictions and is currently flourishing alongside the Community Wind Band, which continues to thrive with Clive Wolfendale at the helm.
The concert also saw readings from pupils including Head Boy James Copeland and Head Girl Ester Ball-Iversen, with the song under candlelight sending everyone off with plenty of Christmas cheer before their well-deserved break.
A collection for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution was held following the concert. This raised an impressive £650 for the maritime charity, which does such amazing work across North Wales and around the country.
A school spokesperson said: "We would like to offer our sincerest thanks to everyone that donated and to our performers for putting on such a magnificent musical spectacle".
