Today marks the beginning of National Hate Crime Awareness Week. It aims to bring people together to stand in solidarity, educate and learn, and support those who need on going support.
The week also encourages local authorities, police forces, key partners and communities in Wales affected by hate crime to work together to tackle hate crime.
Staff and volunteer supporters are trained to listen, give information and offer feedback. They can help you to make sense of what you’ve been through, discuss your options and help you to feel like you’re getting your life under control again.
You can call 0300 303 1982 for free emotional support if you’ve been a victim of hate crime or visit www.reporthate.victimsupport.org.uk.
Here you will find a safe, neutral place for you to voice your fears, worries and emotions. This helps a lot of people to cope and move forward after a crime.
