Some disruption as Storm Francis hits North Wales

High winds and rain is continuing to disrupt travel across North Wales today as Storm Francis blows in.

Travellers across the coast are being warned about high winds especially on high ground and the risk of surface water on the A55. North Wales Police are asking motorists to slow down and take care.

Speed restrictions have been put in place on parts of the A55 and the Britannia Bridge onto Anglesey is currently restricted to 30 miles per hour with warnings issued to caravan drivers and high sided vehicles.

The Snowdon Mountain Railway is currently shut and rescue services have warned visitors not to risk climbing or walking in Snowdonia during these conditions.

The storm which has impacted on much of Wales have seen homes flooded and river levels rise. In South Wales firefighters rescued nine campers close to fast flowing rivers in Carmarthenshire and fire crews have been called to deal with incidents in Cardiff and across the South.

Police have been called following reports that two people have gone into the water at Taff's Well in Cardiff.

Rail services are expected to be disrupted across Wales with a yellow weather warning in place for Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Anglesey until 5am on Wednesday morning.
