Actor Sophie Thompson has made an appeal for people to donate to Mary’s Meals during the last week of the charity’s Double The Love campaign.

Mary’s Meals serves a daily meal in school to hungry children in 20 of the world’s poorest countries.

The promise of this life-changing meal attracts children to the classroom where they can get an education that can, in the future, help them out of poverty.  

Sophie, who is a long-time supporter of the charity, says: “Double The Love is a wonderful opportunity to get behind Mary’s Meals and show children living in the world’s poorest countries that we care.”

It costs Mary’s Meals just £15.90 to feed a hungry child for a year and until 31 January 2022, that same amount will go twice as far as all donations are being matched thanks to a group of generous supporters, with funds available up to £1.6 million.
