Storm Ciara update for Conwy County

Weather-related problems were widespread across Conwy yesterday. Many incidents reported included a significant number of trees down and roads closed.

Conwy Council has been active across the county today (Monday 10th Feb) with the clean up seeing crews removing fallen trees, inspecting damaged roads and clearing debris left by the storm and floodwater.

As of 4pm today the roads still remaining closed are:

- Crafnant Road, Trefriw (landslide)

- A547 Llanddulas to Abergele (flooding)

Two schools in the county remain closed on Tuesday. These are Ysgol Creuddyn in Penrhyn Bay and Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy, Llanrwst. The school closures information is updated each morning at www.conwy.gov.uk/schoolclosures

Council Leader, Cllr Sam Rowlands, said: “It was a terrible weekend for residents and businesses across the county.

"I’m very grateful to our staff and people in the local communities for the way they dealt with the situation in the most atrocious weather conditions.”
