Tree of Lights raises over £27,500 for St David’s Hospice

St David’s Hospice would like to thank all the members of the Rhos on Sea Rotary for all their continued support and for their kind-hearted voluntary work.

The St David’s Hospice Tree of Lights continues to shine brightly in memory of loved ones and remains a comfort to all at a difficult time of year.

A message from the President of Rhos on Sea Rotary Club, Cliff Large: “Rhos on Sea Rotary Club would like to express the sincere appreciation of members for all the help and invaluable support once again received in supporting St David’s Hospice with our annual Tree of Lights appeal.

"It was with great regret we had to cancel our Switch On ceremony at the end of November, but people’s safety and wellbeing is paramount.

"A little over three months ago, our Club appealed for help with this year’s event and the public has so generously responded to support the Hospice. The total raised this year is £27,513.64 which does not include Gift Aid.

"Every penny donated through this Rotary project has been donated to the Hospice. The Tree of Lights has raised a total of over £361,000 for St David’s Hospice and as a Rotary Club, we are delighted with that.

"However, the main appreciation is to everyone who has supported this worthwhile cause over many years. We will be repeating it again next Christmas.

"The Tree of Lights is not just about fundraising, equally importantly it enables people to remember loved ones and it gives us so much satisfaction knowing this has happened and helped people cope at what can be a difficult time.

"We hear day-to-day about atrocities and strife in the world and in these difficult days of the Pandemic which has affected us all, good news often fails to hit the headlines. We hear so little about the good that is being done by ordinary people. Diolch am bob cefnogaeth unwaith eto.”
