Two men charged with anti-social behaviour in Llandudno

North Wales Police have issued an update on incidents of anti-social behaviour at the weekend.

A spokesperson said: " We received several calls on Saturday morning regarding anti-social behaviour by males congregating near to the Town Hall on Lloyd Street.

"Officers attended on each occasion, and the incidents were mainly verbal altercations between the males.

"Despite speculation on social media, at no point was it suggested to officers that any of the males were in possession of a knife. One person was found to be in possession of a piece of wood, however there was no evidence of any offences being committed in this regard."

One man was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and was subsequently charged.

Dean Roberts (54) of no fixed abode will appear before Magistrates on 8th January.

In a separate incident, officers were called to a man defecating in an alleyway off Reform Street. 31-year-old Michael Martin of no fixed abode was subsequently charged with an offence under the Public Order Act and will appear before magistrates on 8th January.

Following the arrest of the two men, no further calls were received, and patrolling officers encountered no further incidents of note.

District Inspector Catherine Walker said: “There was a visible presence of a number of officers patrolling the town over the weekend.

“As previously stated, plans are in place to deal with any criminality in the area, and we are aware of comments on local social media groups regarding alleged anti-social behaviour.

"I would urge the public to report any such incidents directly to us as soon as possible in the first instance, so officers can deal with these issues promptly and robustly as evidenced by these arrests.”
