Two pedestrians seriously injured in Prestatyn crash

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Prestatyn yesterday evening.

The incident occurred on Station Road, close to the junction with Bastion Road, at approximately 6.30pm and involved a black Mercedes C Class.

The vehicle was involved in a collision with two female pedestrians, both of whom sustained serious injuries and were subsequently taken to hospital.

A 39-year-old male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.

Detective Inspector Tim Evans of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: "If you witnessed the manner of driving of this vehicle in the moments before, or at the time of the collision, your information could be extremely important.

“I am also appealing to anyone who may have CCTV, dash-cam, or doorbell footage that captured this collision, or footage of the Mercedes being driven prior to it, to contact us as soon as possible.

“Even if you believe the information or footage is minor, it may still be helpful.”
