Udi Akpan scored twice and was close to getting a hat-trick as the Seagulls beat Llanrwst United 6-2 to progress to the next round of the JD Welsh Cup.
Dylan Allshorn, Sam Turner, Lloyd Marsh-Hughes and Nick Rushton also scored for the Bay, while former Bay striker Callum Parry pulled two back for a spirited Llanrwst side.
Bay dominated possession from the start and after Udi had headed a chance over the bar after good work down the left by Tom Creamer, they took the lead with a good finish by Dylan Allshorn on 26 minutes after more good work by Creamer.
Five minutes later Udi Akpan headed in for number two from Nick Rushton’s cross and almost added a third before half-time when he hit the bar with another header from Jamie Cummings’ cross.
Nick Rushton brought a good save from Llanrwst keeper Ryan Williams early in the second half and Sam Turner also stung the keeper’s hands with a good effort and the keeper made good saves from Udi and Alex Downes, before Udi Akpan cut inside and drilled a shot into the bottom corner of the net for his second.
Sam Turner netted from close range to make it 4-0, but Llanrwst hit back with two goals in a a little over a minute from Callum Parry – the first from a goalmouth scramble and the second with a quality finish from the edge of the area.
Joe Smith, who came on for Alfie Brooks for the second half, also made a fine save from Parry, but the Bay killed the game off with two goals in the last five minutes.
Substitutes Lloyd Marsh-Hughes scored at the back post from Sam Turner’s cross on 85 minutes and Nick Rushton added number six after good work by Dylan Allshorn.
